Sigla che sta per "Dogg Pound Gangstaz". La Dogg Pound è una crew formata dai rappers losangelini Kurupt e Daz Diliinger in un periodo dove Dre, Tupac, Snoop ed altri veterani della west si affermano a livello internazionale. I membri del gruppo, inizialmente, iniziano le proprie carriere da solisti, firmando entrambi un contratto per la Death Row, etichetta di Suge Knight. Collaborano con Dre in "The Chronic", LP del 1992, con Snoop Dogg in "Doggystyle", del 1993. Quest'ultima collaborazione fa si che i due si distinguano per stile e talento all'interno dell'album. Diventano pupilli di Snoop, e la Death Row per motivi promozionali" li battezza Dogg Pound. La crew collabora con Snoop e Nate Dogg per il progetto di debutto "Dogg Food", che esce nel 1995 ma non riscuote un successo pari a quello delle altre uscite Death Row. I singoli sono "Let's Play House" e "New York, New York". Nonostante il successo ottenuto nell'underground, l'LP si rivela un progetto non molto felice dal punto di vista delle vendite. Alla fine della promozione dell'album Kurupt e Daz si concedono una pausa per dedicarsi a progetti solisti. Il primo produce "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back", il secondo "Kuruption!", entrambi del 1998: vendono ancora meno di "Dogg Food". Da quell'anno la Death Row inizia ad accusare i primi colpi, sia per la dipartita dal gruppo di Dr. Dre che per la morte di Tupac. Durante la seconda metà degli anni '90 cala l'attenzione verso la Death Row e la Dogg Pound. Continuando con i progetti solisti, i due registrano nel 1999 "Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha" (Kurupt) e "R.A.W." (Daz). Con l'LP di Dre "2001", commercializzato l'anno seguente, la west coast risorge e torna agli antichi splendori. La Dogg Pound fa uscire un omonimo LP nel 2002, in cui partecipano grandi ospiti come Tupac, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, rappers della Roc-A-Fella e Dr. Dre., che produce il singolo "Just Doggin'".
